Before we converted into a private practice in 2013, Jack J. Pivar was the General Counsel of Numotion, the DBA of United Seating and Mobility, LLP, the largest national provider of rehabilitation equipment, serving on a part time basis. Prior to July 1, 2013 he oversaw the Compliance efforts of the company and its regulatory and legislative lobbying activities along with his duties as General Counsel. He previously served in the areas of compliance, regulatory and governmental relations for Omnicare, Inc. and as the Director of Corporate Compliance for American Medserve Corp. From 1982 until 1997 he was Chairman and Counsel to EFS Healthcare Group, a regional provider of specialized services to nursing homes.
A 1973 graduate of Fordham Law School Mr. Pivar has been an Assistant District Attorney in the office of the District Attorney of New York County (Manhattan), and a Special Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Deputy Attorney General for Medicaid Fraud, New York State Attorney General's Office.
Mr. Pivar is a past President of the National Association for the Support of Long Term Care. NASL is an industry organization dedicated to legislative and regulatory lobbying on behalf of companies providing ancillary supplies and services to the long term care community. He has been a contributor to The Journal of Healthcare Compliance and a lecturer on compliance matters.
